L2T Logger privacy policy

This Privacy Policy governs your use of L2T Logger (the "Application", package com.kiwimodz.l2tlogger). By using the Application, you acknowledge the practices set out below.

Information collected

The Application does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information. It reads vehicle diagnostic data from a connected OBD-II adapter solely to display and, at the user's direction, record that data. It uses no analytics, advertising identifiers, or tracking technologies.

Location permission

Android requires the location permission before any app can list nearby WiFi networks. The Application requests location for the sole purpose of showing WiFi adapters in the connection scan so the user can select theirs. The Application does not determine, record, store, or share the device's physical location, and no location information ever leaves the device. Users who connect to their adapter by Bluetooth are not asked for it.

WiFi and Bluetooth

The Application requests Internet and WiFi permissions to find, join, and maintain a local connection to a WiFi adapter, and the Nearby devices (Bluetooth) permission to scan for and connect to a Bluetooth adapter. These connections are solely between the phone and the adapter; no information is sent to the developer or to any third party.

Background activity and notification

While a session is live, the Application runs a foreground service and shows an ongoing notification so that data logging and the live connection keep running when the app is in the background or the screen is off. This is used only to keep reading the connected adapter; it performs no tracking and collects nothing further.

Data storage and control

All data the Application generates, including recorded sessions, is stored locally on the user's device. It is transmitted from the device only where the user expressly chooses to export or share it. The user may delete this data within the Application, and it is removed in full upon uninstallation.

Third-party links

The Application provides an optional link to a third-party donation service ("Buy Me a Coffee"), the use of which is governed by that service's own privacy policy. The Application transmits no information to it.
